Scholarships Program
The Scholarships Program was created to support children and youth with a monetary contribution each month to continue their studies, improve their living conditions and allow them to reach their dreams.
Our goal is to promote the right to education that everyone has, through a contribution provided by the sponsors, to combat illiteracy in the country and prevent their studies from being interrupted due to lack of financial resources.
Our priority are the students that live in rural areas in conditions of poverty or extreme poverty that, without our support, could not being able to continue their studies.

Fredi Osvaldo Alvarez González
At the age of 3, Fredy was attending a school for deaf children. He got a scholarship thanks to the efforts of his school's principal. Since then, Fredy and his family's life changed for the better.
They started to receive monthly financial support for school supplies. Due to the pandemic, their financial situation got worse. Living Heritage started giving support — bags of groceries, internet access, and online tutoring.
Fredy was provided with a sign language interpreter to support him in his online classes — ensuring that no student is left behind.
Online Learning for Scholars
Born in October 2019 from the Board of Directors of Fundación Herencia Viva, Yo.Smart Academy is an online learning platform created to provide accessible education to our scholarship students and the wider community.
All funds raised through Yo.Smart Academy go directly to support children and youth in rural and marginal areas of Guatemala — ensuring that every class taken is a step toward a scholarship for someone in need.

Scholarship recipients receive free access to courses, tutoring sessions, and digital resources that complement their formal education — from language learning to professional skills.
